A NOTE RE: E-COMMERCEI'm currently in the process of setting up a new Google Checkout account so that those who wish to buy my products on this web site via secure e-commerce transactions processed by Google can do so easily. Eventually, I may also offer similar transactions via PayPal. Meanwhile, the following instructions will enable you to place orders the "old fashioned" way (in a manner similar to how one might order products out of a printed mail order catalog): INTRODUCTIONOn the Gallery page (or in the PDF files downloaded via links on that page), you'll notice that each image which is available for sale has a unique image number. To order 8x10 prints (and other print sizes or products, when they become available in the future), just do the following: STEP ONEWrite down the image numbers (such as "0001") of all the images for which you want to order 8x10 prints, along with the the quantities applicable to each image. Also, write down the catalog number, which consists of the image number followed by a hyphen and a suffix (which may or may not be numerical) signifying the type of product. The suffix for 8x10 photo prints will be 0810. So, in the case of an 8x10 print based on image number 0001, the catalog number would be 0001-0810. (At this stage, that may not seem necessary, since the only print size I'm currently offering is 8x10, but eventually, I plan to offer multiple products for each image, so I might as well start using that system now in order to avoid confusion later when I'm in the process of adding new products.) Check my price list to make sure you know what the price is for each item you wish to order. Right now, that's pretty simple. In terms of prints, I'm currently only offering 8x10 prints, priced at $30 each (as stated on the Gallery page), so there really isn't a price list yet. But that will change later when I start offering different print sizes and additional products. STEP TWOSend me an e-mail message containing the following information:
STEP THREEOnce I receive your initial e-mail, I will send you an e-mail message in order to let you know whether or not I need any additional information. Assuming that you've done things correctly in accordance with the preceding instructions, I probably won't need anything further in terms of information. In that case, I'll confirm the details of the order, and I'll issue you a unique order confirmation number which will enable me to track all orders, so as to insure rapid turnaround, and so as to prevent any possible mixups when receiving multiple orders. Write this confirmation number somewhere on the check or money order itself prior to mailing payment to me. That way, you need not go through the process of writing all the details of the order down again when mailing your payment to me. I will have already received everything I need, with the exception of the payment itself. Of course, if you choose to include that information with your payment as well, that is probably a good idea. Doing so would further reduce the probability of misunderstandings occurring.STEP FOUROnce I receive your payment in the mail, I will contact you via e-mail to let you know that I've received that payment. If there are any unforeseen issues which might delay shipping time, I will make every effort to let you know about such circumstances. However, I will do everything in my power to ship your order to you as soon as possible, once your check or money order has cleared. To place your order, to follow up on your order, or to ask any questions which I haven't answered in the preceding text, please feel free to write to me at the following address: mark_w_pettigrew[at]hotmail[dot]comThank you for visiting this web site and taking the time to look at my images. I thank you in advance for your business. © 2007 Mark W. Pettigrew
NOTE: The preceding instructions are designed to save you the trouble of writing out all of the information I need and printing that information and mailing a print of that information to me when sending in your payment. But of course, if you'd rather do things that way, that's fine, too. One way or another, I still need to get your e-mail address, so that I can easily communicate with you regarding any issues which might arise in connection with your order. |
