Some Christian Artists Worth Celebrating

The 12 Point Mission of ArtisticChristians.com

  1. To encourage artistically talented Christians to make the most of their talents and to use those talents to bring light into spiritually dark places, proclaiming the message that Jesus is alive and working in the hearts of men, women and children throughout the world. This also includes the mission of encouraging all Christians, whether they are artistically talented or not, to passionately pursue the attainment of complete personal integrity in their own lives, so that the name of Jesus Christ is honored in every way by the manner in which they live their lives.
  2. To publicize the amazing work being done throughout the United States and elsewhere by Christians who are talented in a wide range of artistic disciplines, including visual art, music, drama, literature and much more.
  3. To urge all Christians, regardless of whether or not they are in official positions of leadership within the Church, to lovingly and prayerfully encourage, support and nurture the artistically talented Christians in their midst, knowing that the arts are one of the most influential forces in the world today when it comes to shaping people's moral values and determining their attitudes toward the things of God.
  4. To effectively address a variety of specific problems which often prevent artistically talented Christians from achieving their full potential.
  5. To educate and inform artistically talented Christians regarding a wide variety of subjects so that they can more effectively serve God with their diverse talents and in their everyday lives.
  6. To create a means by which artistically talented Christians can market a wide variety of products of their own design, thereby enabling them to make a living as artists if they wish to do so.
  7. To offer a means by which the Body of Christ can fulfill its biblical mandate to love one another and bear one another's burdens, particularly in relation to the specific burdens which are disproportionately and needlessly born by people involved in the arts.
  8. To lay the groundwork and raise funds for a variety of ambitious ministries operated by and for artistically talented Christians, including the North American Association of Artistic Christians, as well as a related ministry to be known as the Christian Artists' Resource Center.
  9. To offer artistically talented Christians numerous opportunities to share their knowledge and their faith online with those who could benefit from their insights regarding a wide range of subjects, from personal testimonies of salvation or deliverance to articles about artistic tools and techniques.
  10. To furnish artistically talented Christians with ample opportunities to network and fellowship with one another, both locally and online.
  11. To serve as an online "think tank" organized for the purpose of analyzing the relative merits of various possible strategies for reaching the lost people of the world, in order to determine the best ways to incorporate the arts into the overall mission of the Church.
  12. To engage in cultural critiques (such as movie reviews, book reviews and music reviews) in order to effectively encourage the mainstream media to produce morally uplifting movies, books, music CDs and other works of an artistic nature.
